Get Involved with Trunk or Treat!

Sunday, October 27, 3 to 5 p.m.

Trunk or Treat is a fun Halloween event hosted by Christ Church Chicago. Our goal is to serve kids from the Woodlawn neighborhood and to proclaim the Gospel to them through conversation, activities, and drama.

Our parking lot will be totally transformed into a fun space for kids of all ages. We’ll have:

  • Car trunks decorated and handing out candy (you can see some examples below!)

  • Food tent with cider and donuts

  • Fire pit with s’mores

  • Gospel skit "A Dead Man is Raised to Life (John 11)"

  • & more!

To pull this off, we need your help! We need lots and lots of candy, as well as volunteers for the day.

Candy: You can drop off candy at the designated box in the Commons.

Volunteer: We would love for you to volunteer! You can fill out the form below, and Amy Koehler will be in touch with more details. Reach out to her with any questions at akoehler@christchicago.org!

What Is Trunk or Treat?

Trunk or Treat is a fun and safe alternative to trick-or-treating on Halloween. Participants decorate the trunk of their car in a theme and hand out candy in front. A few examples are below—it can be as elaborate or as simple as you would like (and you can even find decorating kits online, like the shark below)! If you would like to provide your trunk but have someone else decorate it, that is an option too!
