Community Engagement
We partner with a number of organizations and individuals to advance the work of the gospel. We strive to be a light in the Woodlawn community, and host several events a year to reach those who live right in our neighborhood.

Gospel Justice Center
Administer Justice offers legal aid to those in need of justice, freedom, and hope. Christ Church Chicago serves as a Gospel Justice Center, where clients can schedule a 45-minute session with an attorney to receive support for legal issues including divorce/custody, landlord/tenant, debt/collections, criminal records, & more.
South Side Young Life
Young Life ministers to high school and middle school students on their own turf. Students attend Club, where they have fun playing games and hearing about the one true God who loves them. Our Director of Youth, Milton Taylor, is our liaison with Young Life and is present in their after school Club activities, summer camps, and organizes collaborations between our own youth and Young Life students.
Young Life is currently at UC Woodlawn and the University of Chicago Lab School. Our congregation has a long history of supporting Young Life with congregants serving on the Southside Young Life committee, participating in annual fundraising, and serving as student leaders.
Parkshore Nursing Home
Parkshore Nursing Home is a rehabilitation and skilled nursing center located in the Woodlawn neighborhood. They provide 24-hour nursing, sub-acute rehabilitation services, and care for residents’ physical, mental, and/or geriatric needs. We partner with them by visiting weekly and holding a brief worship, prayer, and preaching service.
